Every rate we pay, and the day each one last moved.

A rate is only worth reading if you know how old it is. So this page states one effective date, in plain text, and then tells you separately when each individual rate was last changed, because those are different facts and most rate sheets quietly merge them.

This sheet is effective
23 July 2026

Written into the page by a person on the day the rates were set. It does not read your computer's clock and it does not update itself. If this date looks old to you, it is old, and that is the point of printing it.

Deposit rates Annual percentage yield assumes interest remains on deposit until maturity. A withdrawal will reduce earnings, and a penalty applies to an early withdrawal from a certificate. Rates on certificates are fixed for the term; rates on savings and money market accounts are variable and may change after account opening.

Four of these have not been touched in a year and the table says so rather than leaving you to work it out. If a longer certificate is paying less than a shorter one, that is not an error on the page. It is what the curve is doing, and we would rather show it than hide the row.

The change log

Every change we have made to the sheet above, newest first.

Published for the same reason a shop posts the date on the milk. It is the only way a rate sheet can be checked rather than believed, and it means you can see whether we move promptly when rates rise or only when they fall.

23 Jul 2026

Short certificates raised. 91 day to 3.15%, 6 month to 3.85%, 12 month to 4.05%. The 12 month is now the best rate on the sheet and we would tell you that at the counter.

02 Jun 2026

Money market raised at both tiers, to 1.95% and 2.60%. The $25,000 break stayed where it was.

11 May 2026

18 and 24 month certificates lowered, to 3.90% and 3.70%. Anybody already holding one keeps the rate they opened at until it matures. That is what fixed means.

04 Mar 2026

Reviewed, nothing changed. Recorded anyway, because a sheet with no entry for four months is ambiguous and this is not.

09 Dec 2025

12 month certificate raised to 3.95% for a six week promotional period, which then expired as advertised rather than quietly continuing.

14 Aug 2025

Savings, 36 month and 60 month lowered. These are the three rows the table above flags as untouched since. They are the ones we would look at first if you are opening something today.

06 Mar 2025

Interest checking and Christmas club set at 0.10% and 0.50%. Neither has moved since and neither is where the money should sit if you are trying to earn something.

A small two-storey brick community bank on the main street of a rural Missouri town in morning light, with tall arched windows, stone lintels and a corner entrance with worn stone steps.
The Braymer office. The bank has been in this building since 1890 and on this sheet since we started printing one.
Numbers you need

The four things people ring the branch to ask, printed instead.

Routing number

101905004. The same for both branches and the same on every account we have ever opened. It is on this page so you do not have to find a cheque book.

Lost or stolen card, any hour

(800) 555-0133, answered day and night including holidays. Ring this rather than the branch if it is after hours, because the branch number will only tell you to.

Suspected fraud on your account

(800) 555-0144. If somebody has rung you claiming to be from this bank and asked for a code, hang up and ring this number. We will never ask for a code and we will never be annoyed that you checked.

Talking to a person about a loan

(660) 555-0122, and ask for the lender by name. Agricultural, construction and commercial lending are decided in Braymer by people who live here, which is the actual difference between us and a call centre.

If the date at the top is old, ring us and say so.

A rate sheet is a promise about a number and a promise about a date, and the second one is the half that usually rots. This page is built so that when it goes stale you can see it, which is the only version of this worth publishing.
